About the Author
Carol D. Tamparo, CMA-A, PhD, is coordinator of the Medical Assistant and Paralegal Programs at Highline Community College, Des Moines, Washington. Carol has taught at Highline for twenty-three years and is a member of the Sea-Tac Chapter of AAMA. She is also an AAMA site surveyor who regularly reviews medical assisting programs at schools and colleges seeking accreditation. Tamparo, a speaker at numerous AAMA seminars, is recognized as an expert on medical law, ethics, and bioethics in the medical office. She is co-author of three other medical assisting texts, including Therapeutic Communications for Allied Health Professions by Delmar Publishers. Wilburta (Billie) Q. Lindh, CMA, is an instructor and former program director of the Medical Assisting Program at Highline Community College, Des Moines, Washington. Billie has taught at Highline for ten years, and is a member of the Sea-Tac Chapter of the American Association of Medical Assistants. She is a frequent lecturer at AAMA seminars on the importance of communication and is co-author of three other medical assistant texts, including Therapeutic Communications for Allied Health Professions by Delmar Publishers.
